Stan Marshburn has worked for state government for more than 30 years. A graduate of The Evergreen State College (TESC) with a bachelor's degree in public administration, Stan started his state service as a temporary budget analyst for OFM in 1976. He then moved from OFM to a succession of budget and policy positions at several agencies, including TESC, Employment Security Department and Department of Social and Health Services. In 1988, Stan became policy director for Gov. Booth Gardner. At the conclusion of the Gardner administration, Stan partnered with Denny Heck to create TVW, Washington state's public affairs network. After serving as chief financial officer for DSHS for 10 years, Stan rejoined OFM in May 2009 as deputy director.
Governor Gregoire appointed him as director of OFM in September 2012.
