The House Early Learning & Human Services Committee considers issues relating to early learning from birth to kindergarten, as well as a broad array of issues affecting children and families, including parent education, foster care, dependency, child protective services, children’s mental health, child welfare services and family reconciliation services. The committee also considers vocational rehabilitation, family support programs such as TANF and Disability Lifeline, and issues relating to persons with developmental disabilities, youth in need of drug and alcohol treatment, homeless youth, at-risk youth, youth violence prevention and juvenile justice.
