The Legislative Information Center (LIC) is a service provided by the Washington State Legislature. Our mission is to provide courteous, accurate, and timely information about the Legislature and the legislative process to the citizens of Washington State and the members and staff of the Legislature. Materials, services, and information provided are outlined below:

The LIC Office and Hotline Operations are open all weekdays, Monday thru Friday.  ​Interim is defined as the time period in which the Legislature is not meeting (outside of legislative sessions).  Regular session runs 105 days in odd-numbered years and 60 days in even-numbered years and begins on the second Monday in January.  Special sessions are convened upon the call of the Governor and run up to 30 days in length.
