Advisory Opinion 95-17

​Several examples of letters, to be prepared and mailed at public expense, were submitted to the Board for review.

​All but one of the letters were found to be appropriate uses of public resources.  The Board concluded that the letter which would solicit money from others, including lobbyists, to be used for legislative travel would violate the prohibition on use of position to secure special privileges.  RCW 42.52.070 and 42.52.160.
