Advisory Opinion 96-09

​Legislator/nurse is invited to participate in a medical mission to Russia.  The sponsor has no legislative presence in Washington and the legislator represents she would be traveling as a health care professional.  Issue involves a trip by a legislator paid for with non-legislative funds.

​The trip would not violate the Act.  The trip is related to the legislator's outside business and is not related to the performance of official legislative duties.  RCW 42.52.010(9)(b).
