Advisory Opinion 98-02

​May a legislator accept a complimentary fair pass from the WA. State Fairs Assoc., which is good for admission to any participating fair throughout WA in a calendar year?

​The issuer of multiple use passes must limit the number of uses to a cumulative value of no more than $50 in a calendar year. RCW 42.52.150.  When complimentary admission includes a guest, that admission is attributed to the primary recipient of the pass.
