​Did Respondent violate RCW 42.52.180, when he hired his legislative assistant as a campaign aide?

​Yes, as facts showed that legislative assistant worked on the legislator’s re-election campaign during regular working hours, and that the legislator did not take steps to end such action once it became clear that some of her campaign work occurred while she worked for the legislature.
