The 2023-25 Transportation Budget (Sec. 204 (6)) directs the JTC to hire a consultant to evaluate potential options for a statewide household travel survey. Household travel surveys are designed to assist policymakers and transportation planners who need comprehensive data on travel and transportation patterns.

The study requires a preliminary consultant report to evaluate options and cost estimates for conducting a statewide travel survey, including recommendations. The final report will include recommendations for an agency or agencies to supervise collecting, maintaining, and accessing survey data. The preliminary report is due January 10, 2023, with the final report due July 1, 2024.
