LEB Opinion Question/Complaint
Complaint alleged that Respondent distributed two campaign brochures at a legislative town hall meeting and that this action violated RCW 42.52.180, use of public resources in support of a campaign.
Summary
LEB Opinion Summary
A campaign brochure was handed out to the two attendees at a legislative town hall meeting and this constituted reasonable cause to believe the Ethics Act had been violated. The Act permits dismissal upon finding that any violation which may have occurred was not material, was inadvertent and minor, and that further proceedings would not serve the purposes of the Act. Facts of the case satisfied these criteria. Complaint dismissed pursuant to RCW 42.52.425.
