Joint rules

The House and Senate both vote to adopt joint rules that govern processes that affect both chambers.

Preface

In 2023, the Senate and House adopted the Legislature's current joint rules with the adoption of House Concurrent Resolution 4401. The joint rules were subsequently amended with the adoption of Senate Concurrent Resolution 8407.

 

Rule 10. Joint Committee Meetings

All meetings held by joint committees or held jointly by house of representatives and senate standing committees must be conducted in accordance with the rules and applicable interim resolutions of both the senate and the house of representatives. Expenditures and meetings may be subject to approval in accordance with such rules and applicable interim resolutions. Remote participation in committee meetings is authorized to the extent it is technologically feasible. When participating remotely, committee members shall be considered present for purposes of a quorum and voting.
