The Joint Legislative Audit and Review Committee (JLARC) audits include performance audits, sunset reviews, and tax preference reviews. Nonpartisan JLARC staff do the work.

- The Legislature assigns audits in bills and budgets.
- JLARC sets priorities and assigns audits in its work plan.
- The Citizen Commission for Performance Measurement of Tax Preferences sets a schedule for tax preference reviews.
