Contribution rates projections

Under current law, contribution rates are adopted every two years and follow the rate-setting process displayed in the table below.

Contributions are collected by the Department of Retirement Systems (DRS). The current (and historical) contribution rates are available on the DRS Website.

In the following table, we provide the contribution rates for the 2025-27 biennium. The LEOFF contributions rates were adopted by the LEOFF 2 Retirement Board during their July 24, 2024 meeting. For all other retirement systems displayed in the below table, the Legislature prescribed new contribution rates during the 2025 Legislative Session under ESSB 5357 (Ch 381, L 2025). These new contribution rates replace what was adopted by the Pension Funding Council during their July 17, 2024 meeting.

We intend to update this webpage in the fall of 2025 to reflect projected contribution rate estimates for the next two biennia (2027-29 and 2029-31).
