Historical valuations of the Washington retirement systems

Historical valuation reports that provide the financial and funding status of Washington State public retirement systems.

Actuarial valuations are technical reports providing full disclosure of the financial and/or funding status of a plan.  OSA prepares valuations for the Washington State public retirement plans administered by the Department of Retirement System, the Volunteer Fire Fighters’ and Reserve Officers’ Relief and Pension Plan, and the Higher Education Supplemental Retirement Plans.

For the plans administered by the Department of Retirement System, odd-numbered valuation years are used to set contribution rates for the ensuing biennium.  For those valuations, the Pension Funding Council oversees an actuarial audit of the results by an outside actuary.
