Volunteer Fire Fighters’ and Reserve Officers’ Relief and Pension Plan (VFF)

The Office of the State Actuary (OSA) assists the Board for Volunteer Fire Fighters and Reserve Officers (VFF) and the Washington State Legislature by providing actuarial services and consulting concerning the VFF plan.

OSA’s primary service include:

  • Prepare an annual actuarial assessment and at least one actuarial valuation report of the plan per biennium.

  • Perform experience studies as needed.

  • Consult with BVFF on actuarial topics.

  • Price and communicate the effects of potential changes to the VFF plan.
